PRESS RELEASE: RADIOACTIVE CLOUD PREDICTION

At 9 a.m. this morning, the small atomic cloud resulting from the firing of the Lassen shot at 4:45 a.m. today had completely dissipated over the Nevada Test Site. The only radiation reported was in the immediate vicinty of the test area of Yucca Flat. No fallout is expected to be recorded off site.

It was announced earlier today that the ready date for firing the next shot was June 10. This date has been changed, and the readiness date is now June 11. A press briefing will be held in the Las Vegas Office of Test Information at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 10.
