The following was released at 11 a.m. PDT Wednesday July 24:

"Radiation levels after the Kepler shot were too low over the manned shelter to permit obtaining necessary information from the experiment so the exercise was discontinued. The 18 men in the shelter were returned to Mercury.

"Lower levels of the dissipating Kepler cloud, which are moving slowly to the west-northwest, apparently contain little radioactivity and are expected to cause negligible or no fallout. The air mass at 10,000 to 15,000 feet should be in the area of Hawthorne and Luning, Nevada, by 5 p.m. today.

"The air mass at 25,000 feet is forecast to be in the vicinity of Elgin, Nevada, by about 12 noon and to be north of Cedar City, Utah, moving toward Green River, Utah by 5 p.m.

"At 30,000 feet, winds are carrying the air mass toward the Nevada-Utah border northeast of Caliente, Nevada and toward Milford, Utah. By 5 o'clock today the air mass should be just east of the Utah-Colorado border, about 30 miles north and west of Grand Junction, Colo."
